Most people know that you’re not supposed to enter a highway as a pedestrian. The reason for this is simple. The cars move too fast, so if you’re hit, you’re likely to be killed.

Despite the risks, many people do end up on highways as pedestrians. In most cases, it’s a result of not having a way to leave.
